Debate over the health care plan championed by U.S. President Barack Obama is turning rancorous, with figures on both sides of the discussion lobbing harsh criticism at the other and even the Obama health care logo coming under attack.
As we saw with this week’s Obama Joker poster, which brandished the word “socialism” and likened the Prez to Heath Ledger’s character in The Dark Knight, there has been vehement opposition to some of the President’s policy initiatives.
Addressing some of the opposition she has encountered, the U.S. Speaker of the House and universal health care advocate, Nancy Pelosi, recently accused protesters at Democratic health care town hall meetings of carrying swastikas.
In response, the website Sweetness and Light likened the Obama health care logo to a swastika and compared Democrats to Nazis. Makes perfect sense.

Fairly innocuous, right? Not according to Sweetness and Light, which proves that if you look hard enough, one can find a swastika hidden in anything …
There you have it. The President must be a Nazi.
According to Sweetness and Light, which fashioned the controversial photo comparison seen above, the Nazis and the Democrats are both:
“Against big banks and capitalism, against big stores, against pollution, for two years mandatory voluntary service to the country, for make-work projects, against cruelty and to animals, against smoking, for abortion and for universal health care.”

Oh no! Democrats are against pollution and cruelty to animals! Maybe I should become a republican so I can remain guilt-free while I pollute and torture animals.
It is sad - thousands of families are forgone preventive care because the cost of such insurance is five times average cost 10 yrs ago, big banks and insurance companies are running profits up on the backs of their employees and premium holders, while managers are getting bonus in the million - but they are not doing the labor, So in your eyes if the CEO who you praise runs a company in the hole lets reward him, while his employees lose all they work for. The little guy does not have the clout to fight back, so by your admission lets the true devils continue to hurt the less powerful. Reference to the Nazi image. You can find a jack ass in any image if you search long enough. Now the medical symbol is crown for Nazi, what next Lady Justice will be label as bondage of women. Oh when you become a victim of the Health Insurance misinformation than we will hear a different tune.

You will need to do some background research on swastika before you talk about it. It orginally meant “Sun, life & good luck” OUR US TROOPS 45th divisions wore it on their uniforms and has been on some of the earliest of pottery found. It wasn’t unitl the 30’s that good ol’ hitler made this his sign, ugly and evil. The swastika is a connotation and the meaning has obviously evolved over the years.

Our infant death rate is higher and our life expectancy is lower than Canada’s. About a sixth, of our population is w/o health insurance. Spiraling health care costs are leading to more and more personal bankruptcies, early deaths, destroyed homes and dashed American dreams. Furthermore, one hardly sees Canadians crashing our borders to buy lifesaving medicines? I find it repugnant that a (rich?) Canadian woman is being used to, in effect, remind fifty million Americans how poor they are and that, with greed up front, money beats principles. Furthermore, when and where has the free market sought to cure these ills? Since destroying Clinton’s efforts sixteen years ago, how many infants have they subsequently killed? The doom and gloom that the GOP and their supporters speak of are already here!
The free market is supposed to step in and take care of the insurance problems. Well, it hasn’t and it won’t. One would think that those leading the free market, being the touted problem solvers that they are or claim to be, would have long time ago gotten together and came up with solutions to the insurance situation. Similarly, the CEOs of the auto industry, the financial institutions and mortgage companies should have gotten together in Detroit or elsewhere and resolved their problems. Instead, they raced to D.C. to seek answers, help and solutions. Their risk assessment folks and catastrophic response folks spend their time sleeping at the wheel. Seemingly, these touted CEOs can see and/or plan no further than their golden parachutes.
If the free market is so politically fouled and greed-bent as to maintain the sordid plight of one sixth of this population, then it should rightfully be kicked to the curb and replaced with something more moral and efficient. From the past sixteen or more years, we can see just how morally bankrupt the GOP/conservatives are. George Bush exemplified this so very clearly when he, leaving the country in financial ruins, having sent our young men and women to fight two wars and with housing in shambles, stated, in effect, that he will sleep very well at night
Well, Bush/GOP/Conservatives left a very sick patient. The sicker the patient, the more expensive the cure is going to be. That’s exactly what this new administration is facing. My extreme disappointment is that the latter is not doing a very effective job of making these points to the American people and especially the GOP folks, which have done nothing over the past sixteen years to fix health care except to pat themselves on the back for having prevented Clinton from doing anything about it. Will the GOP again be Gov. Fabus in the doorway, except the door being blocked is the one to medical insurance/care for some fifty million Americans?
I would like to see less expensive healthcare, but has anyone (that has left a comment) actually read the proposed healthcare legislation? Euthanasia for seniors? Making a church pay for abortions? Sorry, I can’t hang with that, and Democrat or Republican, this country can’t survive unless there are some profitable companies that are still able to pay taxes.
