Back in January, Melanie Scary Spice Brown suggested that the Spice Girls might reunite this year to celebrate Queen Elizabeth, II‘s Diamond Jubilee. In February, Victoria Posh Spice Beckham put the kibosh on reunion rumors and flat out said that a reunion wasn’t going to happen this year at all. Today, we are hearing from Geri Ginger Spice Halliwell on the undying Spice Girls reunion rumors. According to her, it’s *possible* that the Spices might reunite this year for the queen’s jubilee … and/or possibly the 2010 London Summer Olympic Games. HMMM.

Geri Halliwell has offered a glimmer of hope to Spice Girls fans desperate to see the Nineties group reform for the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. ‘It would be unfair of me to reveal anything now,’ Geri, 39, hinted with a wink at the Heather Kerzner and Marie Curie Cancer Care dinner. Melanie ‘Mel C’ Chisholm, 38, added to the intrigue, saying: ‘I think we need to get our skates on and do it before we are too old!’

HMMMMMMM. While it’s possible that the Spice Girls are planning a surprise reunion, I’m not sure I totally believe it’s going to happen. Then again, the London Games would be the perfect place for them to pop up and go HERE WE ARE AGAIN! right in the midst of the opening ceremonies. My guess is that folks are working really hard to make a reunion happen but until we see them all together again, I can’t let my heart believe it. What do y’all think? Will we really see a Spice Girls reunion this year?
